Nine? Nein.

The Nine cast recording session has been delayed and they've delayed my trip to NYC. Look for me in NYC, and the recording, in three or four weeks.

And the Oscar winner is... me!?

As far as I can tell, of the mainstream media and additional Oscar prediction websites, I tied for first place in correctly predicting seventeen of twenty four winners, beating out Entertainment Weekly, the L.A. Times, and Roger Ebert. Thumbs up! More on that here.

Soon I'll have my year in advance predictions posted, starting all over again for next year's awards. Note that last year I called five of this year's major Oscar contenders: Chicago, Gangs of New York, Catch Me If You Can, The Lord of the Rings II and Minority Report. Granted, I also predicted Pinocchio would be a contender. Sue me.

Insert Topical "NYC" Song Lyric or Catch Phrase Here

I'll be in New York City from the 29th of this month through April 3 for the Nine cast recording, but also to see shows, friends, and a city I haven't been to in a year and a half...

Pizza, Pizza

Now we're talkin... my third commercial callback (out of about ten, so far... a nice callback percentage) is scheduled for tomorrow at 2. This one for the Pizza Hut commercial I first auditioned for on Tuesday. The call sheet said this commercial shoots this coming Monday and Tuesday so decisions should be made quickly...

I've also got a casting appointment on Saturday for a leading role in a new play to be workshopped here in Los Angeles.

Fall Down Go Boom

My computer's processor died while in the process of designing and publishing marketing content for PS Classics' impending, and now past, announcement of recording the new Broadway Revival Cast of Nine With Antonio Banderas and Chita Rivera.

Anyway, I'm now limping along on my laptop and actually am in the process of buying a new computer and just swapping my thankfully still in tact hard drives.

I'm still trying to figure out why Movable Type insists on putting that Continue reading "Fall Down Go Boom" link on the main page when I had deleted the extraneous text accidentally pasted into this box when I originally posted this post. Deleting it didn't seem to help. So, at least, now you get to read this. Hope it was enjoyable...

Attention Ground: You Will Be Broken

After far too long of searching for and buying land, designing house, getting permits for house and land, etc... we're finally in the ground breaking phase of my parents' new house down here in Southern California.

I'm sure I'll write much more about progress and what it's taken to get to this point but I figured I might as well start blogging what's going on, even if I've yet to tell the story of what happened when I wasn't writing.

Grandpa Humor

FADE IN:

INT. SUBURBAN BEDROOM

THE CAMERA tracks past GRANDPA, rolling HIS wheelchair into his GRANDSON'S bedroom.

GRANDPA
Wanna play pinochle?

GRANDSON

Sure. But, I don't know how.

GRANDPA
Neither do I.

THE CAMERA follows GRANDPA, rolling HIS wheelchair back out of his GRANDSON'S bedroom.

FADE OUT
