As many of you know I've spent nearly a year taking comedy improv workshops at ComedySportz here in the Bay Area. After making it through all three levels we celebrate with a mock match. Said performance takes place next Wednesday, the 5th of December. If you're in the area and are interested in seeing the show, let me know! Tickets are a meager three bucks, the door opens at 7:15 for a 7:30pm show in Santa Clara, California...

For the last few days my AIM has been crashing randomly throughout the day. A few minutes ago I received a random IM from a screen name I had never seen before. They said:

...you have three seconds to make a profile your profile is now a cube you have three seconds to move your cube you are being booted off the internet

And then Instant Messenger closed. I started it back up and a few minutes later got the same messages from the same screen name. I blocked said screen name. Problem solved, right? Wrong. A different, new, screen name IM'ed me with the same message. I had to set AIM to only allow IM's from my those in my buddy list while I set the program to send me an approval button before I receive any incoming chat windows from those not already on my buddy list. This has, so far, thwarted the strange IM crashes.

How in the world did they do this, I wonder. Can someone really come in and shut down the program? I guess they can seeing as how they did. Anyone have any ideas?

Update:This Hack's Sights Set on AIM...

I'm no longer SznsOfHype, at least for now. Find me on AIM at MarkBakalor or HijinksDesign...

I'm back down in Southern California for the holidays.

My grandmother went in for surgery on Wednesday morning. A few hours later she was back home and has yet to use the Vicadin prescribed for her. What a trooper.

Wednesday evening I baked nearly five pumpkin pies and twenty pounds of our secret recipe mashed potatoes.

Friday I head over to my close personal friend, Mr. Bruce Kimmel's place. Later in the afternoon I'm scheduled to meet up with another close personal friend, the elusive Mr. Guy Haines as we head out on the town with Guy, taking part in a photo shoot for his new website, touring around his old stomping ground: Hollywood.

Don't know if you've noticed but we've launched several new sites over the last few weeks. In addition to Guy's, check out Phillip Officer's and Jeff Harnar's. In the very new future look for new sites for Stephanie Pope and Karen Mason, as well as Heather Mac Rae, Julie Wilson, and several other major entertainment names. One of which will surprise you. Not just because it's a name having little to do with Jerome Records. ;-)

Okay, who wants to go with me to see Charlie's Aunt? We can catch it live and then see a video of the same show when I played Charlie a few summers back. Let me know and we'll figure out logistics...

What the heck is that all about!? First of all, I can't read the darn page. Second of all, why would a picture of my brother and I taken over a decade ago (the photo on the bottom, not the first on the top... as much as you may think, they are not my brother and I) be on a Korean bulletin board page along with photos of trees, deer, and mountain ranges?Kudos to anyone who can figure this one out!

A month or so ago I received a telephone call from the one and only Guy Haines. Not this guy. Nobody has ever heard of him. No, I'm talking about the world famous tennis champ and recording artist Guy Haines. We go way back. He'd been pestering me (one of his most perfected talents) for years about getting some sort of web presence online. I went down to L.A. a few times to work with him when our schedules permitted. Anyway, the site is now live. HainesHisWay.com is online. The world is now a better place.

So much has been going on lately and I've missed blogging much of it due to not having much extra time. The rest I haven't talked about because I'm just not ready to share everything all at once. ;-)

The big news is that my parent's are now in escrow. They're purchasing a big chunk of land near Malibu. This means that sooner than later I'll also be heading that way. My current hope is that I too will be able to buy some land and have my own house built. Whether that happens is unknown...

In other news, my first ComedySportz performance will take place in December. If you haven't been invited yet it's not out of spite. Let me know and I'll add you to the invite list!

More as time permits and I can be at liberty to expand upon... :)

Two pretty big peices of news and I can't go into much detail on either of them.

However, I'm going down to L.A. with my parent's this weekend and should be able to tell you why and show lots of photos when I get back. It'll be swell.

As well, we just landed another major Broadway name client at hijinks design. Can't say who or what yet but it'll be great.

Hey, world, here I am...

Webcam

You know it. You love it. You can't get enough of it. Yes, it's the infamous webcam!

Sweeney Todd
Read all about how I, and hundreds of others, got screwed out of tens of thousands of dollars by Doug Mayo.

Times have changed and so too has the design of this site. Journey back in time with me for some redesign fun!

Assassins
I have a healthy fascination with the phenomenon of events in relation to the musical Assassins.

What people are saying:

I'm really not sure of the appeal of Mark Bakalor's site, because frankly I suspect there is none, but hell, I check it at least thrice daily, and you should too!
