I purchased a Palm VIIx with internet access in July for $199. The screen became faulty about 3 weeks ago. I remembered I had spent the $20 warranty in July, as well. I went to return said Palm for a new one, as is my right thanks to the good ol' warranty. I was told that the Palm VIIx is no longer being sold.

Both of my eyebrows furled.

I was then told that Palm discontinued the VIIx so that they could unveil the "i705," the much improved and brand new version of the old VIIx. Since this new version is the only Palm with an internal modem the manager suggested I come back at the end of the month to return my defective "old" Palm for this new swanky model.

Both of my eyebrows raised.

Cut to this morning when I walked into the store certain the manager who told me this would no longer be working for the company and that there is no way this "exchange" would happen. I was prepared to yell, scream and kick my way out of that store with new Palm in palm. My preparation was for naught. I as escorted to the happy customer desk while many employees filled out paperwork. A brand new Palm box was on the table with my name for it.

I was in anticipation, as were my eyebrows.

I walked out with my brand new ($499 value) Palm Pilot, just unveiled to the public on Monday, after having paid much less for a far inferior product half a year ago.

Geek talk: I now am alerted instantly by LED, sound or vibration of incoming email and instant messages. It's batteries are finally rechargable and it supports Secure Disk and MultiMediaCard expansion.

Woo hoo!

Today is our anniversary. I can't believe it's been a year. It seems like just yesterday we met. I needed just one look to know that I was in love. Just one look convinced me that this was the one for me.

Just one year ago we were brought together. It's been a relationship that has weathered the good times and the bad, the happy and sad, the winter and the summer. Even though I continue to look at the greener grass and wonder if we will be together for anniversary two, I cherish the time we have had together. I am so lucky and grateful for all I have learned and experienced in this year of being united.

It's taken a lot to keep us together. A lot of time, devotion, understanding, and money. Yes, money, as much as we like to think these relationships can withstand financial obligations. Love like this doesn't come cheaply. Especially in this environment. Sure enough once a month like clockwork we weather through "that time of the month." We both know it's there. We both just ride it out knowing that if we don't we may not be able to see each other again.

No need to send cards or gifts. it's a quiet celebration. We're going to spend today enjoying this special day together. Just the two of us.

Me and #19. My home and me.

You know it. You love it. You can't get enough of it. Yes, it's the infamous webcam!

Sweeney Todd
Read all about how I, and hundreds of others, got screwed out of tens of thousands of dollars by Doug Mayo.

Times have changed and so too has the design of this site. Journey back in time with me for some redesign fun!

I have a healthy fascination with the phenomenon of events in relation to the musical Assassins.

What people are saying:

I'm really not sure of the appeal of Mark Bakalor's site, because frankly I suspect there is none, but hell, I check it at least thrice daily, and you should too!

- dlevy

"Your website is beautifully demented. The moving head thing in the top left just does it. I've been staring at it for the past minute and still find it amusing. You're an inspiration to us all."

- Gord

"A physical middle ground between Bing Crosby and a sedated Pee-Wee Herman."

- Press Democrat

"Your website makes me giggle. tee-hee! i cannot stop myself."

- Jenn Kauffman

"Decide for yourself if this guy is brilliant or kooky."

Brilliant!!! You're a cross between Robin Willliams and Fred Astaire!

- Mom

"I want to keep an ongoing converse with you about the end of wars, crime, death and old age... Like most, you are probably a bible reader... lets talk soon."

- Michael

"poopy shmapoopy on a purple stick."

- Emily

"People as talented as you should be smothered at birth. You're making the rest of us look like slackers."

- Brad Graham

- Elmer

Do you have something to add?
